Prep time: 60min Cooking time: 20min

Pizza base ingredients:

  • 600g The Kind Harvest Co. Self Raising Flour plus a little extra

  • 1 ½ cups of Lukewarm water

  • 1 sachet of dried yeast (7g)

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of sugar

  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil

Sauce and topping ingredients:

  • 1 can of crushed tomatoes

  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • Pepper to taste

  • 450g Mozzarella, sliced

  • Fresh basil ½ a bunch

  1. To make the pizza dough: get a large bowl and add in the water, salt, oil, sugar, and yeast. Leave for 10 minutes to make sure the yeast is active, it should bloom (where the yeast looks all bubbly).

  2. Then add in the flour gradually about 1 cup at a time until the dough is not too sticky. Knead for about 5 minutes until a smooth dough forms.

  3. Oil a clean bowl place the dough inside and cover with a moist towel. Let it rise for about 40 minutes (the dough should almost double in size).

  4. In the meantime, make the tomato sauce: In a medium sized pot, on medium heat, add in the crushed tomatoes, garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir and turn down the heat to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, or cook until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.

  5. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

  6. After the dough has finished proving punch the dough and knead for a few minutes.

  7. Line a pizza dish or over tray with baking paper, add a little extra flour and roll out/ press the dough to make your desired share, circular or rectangular. Or you can separate the dough into two portions and make two smaller pizzas. Then add your sauce on top of the dough, scatter fresh basil and mozzarella.

  8. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is nicely melted and enjoy!
